World day of Italian cinema

To give worldwide visibility to the works of the new authors and celebrate the

great masters of our cinema: this is the aim of the World Day of

Italian Cinema which was celebrated on Saturday 20 June 2020 in collaboration with

cultural institutes and Italian embassies.

The initiative, born from the adoption of resolution no. 7-000225 signed by Hon. Nicola

Acunzo and others, unanimously approved on 11 December 2019 by

Joined Commissions III (Foreign and Community Affairs) and VII (Culture, Science and Education)

of the Chamber of Deputies, and visible on the Camera.it website, was held in its premiere

edition in digital mode, offering the vision of the five on the RaiPlay platform

short films selected by the Academy of Italian Cinema-David di Awards

Donatello, visible all over the world with subtitles in English, French and Spanish,

without limitations due to "geoprotection". Event that will be repeated every year.

“To offer our young authors new opportunities through the network of embassies

and of the Italian cultural institutes abroad - affirms the Hon. Nicola Acunzo, creator of the

Day - is a concrete way to support our cinema. Through an action

coordinated by the institutes aimed at the vision and enhancement of the works of

young authors and young authors on the international market, and that they can find

both artistic and entrepreneurial support. That of young talents is a sector

constantly monitored with great attention by the parliamentary intergroup

Cinema and Performing Arts, which I have the honor of presiding; support the whole

entertainment workers sector, with initiatives aimed at overcoming this delicate matter

The World Day of Italian Cinema is part of the Fare Cinema review

promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which yes

is held from 15 to 21 2020, in collaboration with MIBACT, ANICA, ICE, Istituto Luce-

Cinecittà, and which will be enhanced with interviews, videos, press conferences and memories

on the occasion of the celebrations of Federico Fellini and Alberto Sordi for the centenary
